Admission and Registration
Rising Star Montessori Academy offers half day, full day, 5 day a week programs for children 2 1/2 years of age through Kindergarten, 6 - 9 years of age for 1st through 3rd grade, and 9-12 years of age for 4th through 6th grade.
The school requires that children be toilet-trained and able to use the restroom independently prior to enrollment.
Children must be at least five years of age by September 1st of the school year to enroll in the full day Kindergarten classes.
Admissions and placement priority is granted to current students and their siblings of past or present students, Open House enrollees and then to the general public.
New students must complete steps 1-6. Returning student must complete required documents for the new school year.
Parents are required to call our facility for an appointment to tour and observe the classrooms of interest. The Montessori is a unique environment and the best way to get to know the school and learn about the Montessori educational philosophy is to tour the school and observe the children at work. A parent must fill out a pre-application form along with a $25.00 processing fee that is non-refundable. This form can be picked up at the office or downloaded from our website: www.Risingstarmontessorischool.com.
Assessment of Child
Parents need to set up an appointment for an assessment for their child. The assessment is done between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
If a child is transferring from another school, a copy of progress reports, transcripts, health records, birth certificates, or any other pertinent papers must be attached to the pre-application.
Both parents are asked to attend the informal interview. This allows the prospective parents and the school directors to become acquainted with each other. It is also a time for the parents to ask any questions that they may have about the school, its curriculum, policies, procedures, etc.
In house registration ends March 31st of each school year. New students will be notified of their admission status on April 1st or two weeks after their interview. The parents have ten days to respond to the letter and return the required forms along with the registration and activity fee. This fee secures the child's spot for the upcoming school year and is non-refundable.
Note: All new students are subject to a four-week trial period.
